03.02.08 Tonight was one of those winter nights that are legendary in Philly; you hear about them, but you only experience one about as often as you see a Lambo cruising through West Philly... you know, one of those pleasantly cool nights, completely absent of all wind, on which time itself seems to stand still. 02.15.08 I feel like I'm becoming more chill, more relaxed, and maybe, just maybe, a tiny bit more insane... 01.24.08 Today I think I beat the world record for how long it takes to set up a router... and no, the obscene amount of time it took was not a result of some stupid action on my part. 01.15.08 I usually see an NSX on the street about once a year... and today was the day. And apparently it's a good day to cruise around on a 70's Ferrari too, even though it's snowing outside... 01.10.08 I never imagined just how good M6 wheels might look on a Z4... neither did I ever imagine M3 CSL wheels on one... and I definitely never would have thought of putting NSX wheels on an S2K. But it seems to be a popular trend these days, to put higher-class-sibling wheels on a lower-class car. But at least all of these sightings were respectable cars to start with, as opposed to old Buicks with chrome 22's... 01.08.08 It's 60 degrees outside... in Philly... in JANUARY!? 12.21.07 Once again I wait a year to watch a movie after acquiring it, and once again it turns out to be one of the best I've ever seen... 12.12.07 It's an oddly pleasant feeling you get, finally relaxing after a short day, after getting plenty of sleep, with Russian electronica in your ears, and the final touch, a refreshing, cold winter breeze in your face... 12.10.07 Yes, my productivity is shot to hell... but on the bright side, I happen to have a very deceivingly ordinary-looking piece of paper in my backpack that is worth $2600... isn't that nice? 11.10.07 I never imagined that picking up useful PHP would ever be this easy... and thus, my attempt at implementing WordPress is off to a good start... 11.02.07 School's been pretty crazy lately... and I have too much other work to do, music to go through, websites to work on, and in all this preferably keep my sanity as well. On the bright side, I did get a few interesting ideas for the next iteration of my site, but as always, don't expect to see any work on it being done anytime soon... 09.30.07 I got to drive behind a Renntech SL600 with some obvious electrical problems today, in, of all places, Bensalem... 09.28.07 Who would've thought? On the third day of Greek Folklore class, amid the boring definitions of long words being taught to put everyone on the same slate, I actually learned something interesting... and yes, you'll have to ask to find out what it was... 09.25.07 Took facebook long enough to add a 'remember me' button to their login... 09.24.07 So the first day of sophomore year turned out completely insane... 08.20.07 Relaxing weather today; a cool breeze mixed with a light, misty drizzle. 08.18.07 Damn, this summer is really flying by fast... 07.31.07 You know what's interesting? I'm already thinking about redesigning this thing and I STILL haven't put up pictures of my sculptures... 07.22.07 I realized just now that this site needs a drastic overhaul... but fear not, it will take me a very long time to actually do it. If you want a guess as to just how long, it took me six months to make this one (from start of planning to finish of coding), and I'm not planning to start working on this redesign for a while... 07.20.07 Today was, and still is, one very, very, VERY strange day... although thankfully it wasn't entirely upsetting... 07.19.07 Damn it's good to have random friends, in random places, at random times... and for random reasons. 07.11.07 I just love that new motherboard smell... 07.06.07 The only problem with having any sort of power comes when you lose it and realize just how much you've become utterly addicted to it... 06.23.07 It's the first time that I've seen one of my pictures show up on the 'Random Pics' section of Whimit's main page... 06.22.07 The weather today was simply amazing... a perfect day to sit outside and relax, which is exactly what I did for half the day... 06.18.07 Sitting in the middle of Logan Square, under a cool sunset chasing the heat of the day, getting sprayed by chlorinated fountain water and ruffled by a sweet summer breeze, considering the past and the future, but most of all enjoying the relaxation of the immediate present... 06.15.07 How I love these cool summer days when you can drive around with the windows down all day and feel absolutely no hint of the traditional Philly heatstroke... of course, seeing old friends never hurts either... 06.08.07 Last day of classes for freshman year... and a very inverted day it was, as if whatever coin was being flipped to determine my luck had suddenly reversed its faces... oh, and someone at the engineering department must have been reading my blog, for the diesel generator has vanished as mysteriously as it had appeared... 06.06.07 For a school that is so obsessed with engineering solutions and environmental concerns, it seems a bit odd to see a diesel generator in front of the main building for a week after a power outage, with the tree above it starting to lose its leaves... 05.12.07 Life is good... driving to see some old friends, after a good night's sleep, with 50 on the speedo, sipping a cup of freshly roasted coffee, and a perfect breeze blowing through every open window of my car on this warm spring morning... 05.09.07 What is Chestnut street coming to? First a Murcielago and now a Citroen 2CV? 05.08.07 Feels good to be watching M1 again... and it feels really good to finally have a bit of free time again... 04.24.07 Sitting here, thinking about life and such, after finishing a race for CS hw and wasting some time on facebook, and as I lean back, raise my arms behind my head, and stare at my empty desktop, it begins to vibrate to the beat of the music, ever so slightly in my eyes, as if I was looking at my rearview mirror with the bass turned up a bit... 04.20.07 Drexel has officially acknowledged the coming of spring; the fountains have been turned on... 04.12.07 Work continues on the RAUAC's site and progress can be seen in the ISO project as well... there are links on the work page for those interested... The spring term is already accelerating quite rapidly to top speed. On the bright side, thanks to a new bed, sleep has become more refreshing, even if still quite limited in quantity... 03.30.07 Ah, good old spring break... glorious, lazy, carefree, sleepy, unproductive, entertaining, money-draining, non-stop-party spring break... 03.18.07 Wow, the weather has been just plain crazy for the past few days... 03.15.07 This week has been rather messed up, as if someone dropped the cocktail of our world onto the floor... after all, I never thought I'd live to see the day when people drove Lamborghini Murcielagos through west Philly... But, alas, there was one bit of stability even in this week: my lack of sleep... 03.11.07 There's finally progress on output... and not only have I at last started to write again, but I have also managed to come up with a new bryce render; check it out under art > computer generated. 03.06.07 Not much to say except that the craziness continues... As always, sleep is scarce; meanwhile my free time is split between schoolwork and web design, to such a degree that I have a waiting list for output (surprisingly enough, against my will for once). If it wasn't for train and lecture naps, I don't know where I'd be right now... On the bright side, at least the term is nearing a glorious, negative-20-degree-celcius conclusion... 02.09.07 Several crazy weeks have culminated in this abnormal day, naturally with a proper lack of sleep, but at least I got to witness the sickest view of the Philly skyline yet... pitch black skyscrapers against a devilishly colored red sunset... it made the whole week worth it... 01.24.07 Some of the streetlamps have finally been turned on... it's lighter in the 'hood now... 01.20.07 It was quite an interesting day yesterday... not that today was boring... Speaking of boring, MTV is a plague compared to M1, the Russo-Ukrainian music channel; minimal commercials (maybe a couple every hour?), no idiots screaming shout-outs to people in Arizona in the middle of songs, no censorship, and a top-20 countdown that features 15 seconds of talk per song, as opposed to MTV's 15 minutes of talk and commercials... and did I mention that the music is a lot better too? Hell, I haven't changed the channel in two months... 01.18.07 Finally, a little bit of real snow... it's about time... 01.09.07 The Whimit old new years comment ad was the best one yet, the latest in their new series of illustrated ads... 01.08.07 First day of winter term... fixed up my schedule, managed to miss two trains in a row (which happened to be an hour apart) while engrossed in interesting conversations, and stumbled upon yet another good idea for a story... if this is any indication of what this term holds in store, it should be an interesting eleven weeks... 01.07.07 I just realized that I haven't yet posted in the new year... nothing much to say though, the second term is about to begin (and the engineering department has messed up my schedule as always), several changes to this site still wait to be made, a waiting list for output stands, and my imagination has finally come up with an idea for a story (but big surprise, I haven't gotten around to writing it yet...). What else is new? 12.26.06 The kids who run the Coffeehouse could learn a few things from an Art Salon... 12.20.06 I asked myself the other day, before going to bed, if I might be able to fall asleep without having to put on music. Some optimistic part of me said 'sure.' But naturally, right after laying down, I realized it wouldn't happen even if hell froze over that night... Trance is called trance for a reason; and unbeknownst to many, in ancient times it was used to cure severe cases of insomnia... 12.15.06 This one day seems to have lasted the length of a week... 12.13.06 It is not often that a movie is so realistic and deep as to move me to add it to my favorites on facebook and whimit and write about it in my blog before the end credits are over, but that is the case tonight... and no, I won't tell you what it is; if you're interested, you'll ask... 12.08.06 An amazing view to end an already entertaining night at East's Coffeehouse: a starry sky, lit up by the moon, crossed silently by the eerie white jetstream of a random airliner... 12.02.06 I found a certain peace there... looking outside the window of a dark room lit up by moonlight bright enough to read by, the trees still in the calm after the storm and a solitary whisp of a cloud hanging quietly in the sky... 12.01.06 I have finally tired myself out enough to send my insomnia running for the hills... and now, in Philly, it is 75 Farenheit in December... Global warming? nah, we're just entering a tropical age; watch for dinosaurs to come back any year now... 11.29.06 I found a certain peace there... sitting in front of the fountain in Logan Square, with the hazy Greek-styled Art Museum visible slightly to the left of the sculptures, at the end of a deserted Ben Franklin Parkway, the flags of which were rustling faintly from a light breeze on this unusually warm late-November day... 11.28.06 Only in Philly can you see a black BMW with aftermarket wheels, tinted windows, and a wildlife preservation license plate... 11.27.06 Another thing I hate, when at 9 I'm falling asleep, but when I go to bed at 10 I lie awake for three hours, utterly unable to fall asleep... pure madness... 11.20.06 Not only am I again enjoying the freedoms presented by fast internet (now even in fiberoptic form), but I have now finally seen "C'etait un Rendez-vous," which was entirely worth the time spent trying to download a copy... 11.16.06 What's the world coming to when its 70 Farenheit in the middle of November and there's a tornado warning for Philadelphia? 11.02.06 Only in Philly can you see girls ride bicycles in high heels... 11.01.06 Wow... the Art Salon was just... well... Sitting up at one in the morning trying to figure out what to do with yourself because all of a sudden you've caught up on sleep so efficiently that you're not sleepy one bit... 10.19.06 Don't you wish there was a pill that simulated 20 hours' worth of sleep? I sure do... 10.15.06 The best way to make sure you sleep well is to first spend a significant amount of time without sleep... 10.04.06 Math school site redesign is finally complete... hoping to start work on a Russian version soon... 10.02.06 As I work on my first major homework load from Drexel, I find the twin-monitor workstation setup to be exceptionally useful... 09.30.06 Only at Drexel does a school sculpture have its own facebook account... 09.28.06 Only in Philly can you see a guy drive a superbike through a people-filled park in broad daylight, with a Ukrainian Tryzub on the nose of his crotch-rocket and a look on his face as if he does this everyday... 09.27.06 Mondays are my new best friends... 09.23.06 People are stupid... what else is new? 09.20.06 Mmm, can't wait to see the future, how this intriguing little drama will come to its conclusion... 09.18.06 Seven months, and everything must end sometime... just the same, the mark of a new beginning... 09.16.06 I continue to be amazed by the effectiveness of traditional Russian medicinal practices. While western sedatives simply stop the symptoms and antibiotics nuke everything in sight, a simple traditional technique, developed long before drugs, stimulates nerves to actually fight the disease... so you're on your feet in days, instead of weeks... Unfortunately, it has suffered from some delays and is being rushed online without any pictures of sculptures. Please forgive me for this, but I saw no reason to keep all of you waiting even longer for the redesign for no good reason.
